A few weeks ago, the choir was contacted by Radio Deeside, via our Twitter feed. Could we supply them with some of our song tracks?
Radio Deeside Relationship Begins
The old saying ‘Giant oaks from little acorns grow’ is so true.
We sent two of our CDs and our relationship with Radio Deeside has blossomed.
‘Classical Cymru’ on Radio Deeside
Each Sunday at 9am Radio Deeside broadcasts the ‘Classical Cymru’ show. A repeat is broadcast each Monday at 6pm.
The show is presented by Jan Rawlingson Doyle. She entertains so well with a mix of music from classical, choral and solo artists. Much of the music has a connection to Wales.
Choir features on ‘Classical Cymru’
The choir first appeared on Sunday 23rd August 2015. Jan opened the show with us performing the much loved hymn, ‘Llanfair.’
Later the choir performed our version of ‘Myfanwy.’
Between, one of the best arrangements of ‘Calon Lan’ ever heard by ‘Only Boys Aloud.’
There was a fine rendition of ‘Panis Angelicus’ by Lesley Garrett. Rhydian was also in fine voice with ‘O Fortuna.’
Paul Potts, one of the choir’s Twitter followers, performed ‘Nella Fantasia.’ This was also a highlight of the show.
A wonderful, relaxing hour on a Sunday morning passed all too soon.
